Schedule
Arrival, Friday February 16th: San Diego
Everyone will meet in San Diego, where the festivities will unofficially kickoff with a nice dinner, some introductions, and likely tales followed by some decent rest – the best moments are ahead.
Day 1, Saturday February 17th: San Diego – Ensenada
After arriving in San Diego on Friday the 16th to meet for a reception dinner the night before, guests are now ready to ride, and assigned their machines for the journey. The first day is a taste test of all terrain in Mexico before heading to the coast for the night. We will take the border crossing at Tecate into Baja California and once over the border the group will head southwest through the villa de Guadalupe on the Ruta del Vino, and into Ensenada where the first day ends in time to appreciate the unmatched sunset over the Pacific Ocean.
Day 2, Sunday February 18th: Ensenada – San Quintin
Feeling more comfortable with the new machines, the second day pushes the group further south, approximately 150 miles, for a scenic journey along the beach of Baja California. Working our way through Santo Tomas and winding through a variety of different beach and mountainous conditions until reaching San Quintin, our resting place for the night.
Day 3, Monday February 19th: San Quintin – Cataviña
With already two days of epic riding under our belt we switch up the pace for day three and begin to traverse the interior of Baja. The long stretch of tarmac leading us to Cataviña proves rewarding in the end with the option of a challenging loop or sand section not for the faint of heart to close out the day on this Tuareg adventure.
Day 4, Tuesday February 20th: Cataviña – Bahia de Los Angeles
Heading south from Cataviña, the fourth day will be a test of mixed road conditions traversing the interior of Baja. A mixed desert landscape, the tour will navigate across the desert spending long stretches on the Tuareg. After many challenging miles in the desert, putting a kickstand down will be especially rewarding when arriving at the Southernmost part of the trip, Bahia de Los Angeles or “Bay of LA”, with a chance to remove the boots, wash away the dust, and enjoy some well-deserved refreshments.
Day 5, Wednesday February 21st: Bahia de Los Angeles – Ensenada
The journey begins heading back up north, again stopping and taking in the coastal views, this time from the east. The trip solidifies the real capability of these middle weight bikes now as the road opens to the desert landscape on the east side of Baja. With the miles adding up the group arrives at the coastal town of Ensenada for a nice meal and a good rest.
DAY 6, Thursday February 22nd: Ensenada – San Diego
On the last ride day, the tour takes us for a beautiful, yet technical dirt section to the views of Laguna Hanson and throughout the remaining coastal cities as the parade of Tuareg 660’s inch closer to the Tecate border. This will be a fun, long day with a few sites, some last delicious bites, and a hope of limited traffic to arrive back in San Diego Thursday afternoon to complete the tour. With many miles, countless smiles, and some new riding stories the group wraps up with a nice meal before parting ways and checkout Friday morning.
Departure, Friday February 23rd: San Diego
Time to part ways, and head to the next experience. Safe travels to all, following an epic adventure.
